AP Calculus Mid-Year Camp + Summer Prep Camp Announcement

First... the AP Calculus AB Mid-Year Camp

If your student attended our Winter Camp with Units 1–3…now comes the part where AP Calculus gets real. Applications. Optimization. Related Rates. Accumulation. Differential equations. This is where grades start to slip — not because students can’t do calculus, but because the problems require deeper thinking and multi-step reasoning.

That’s why we’re hosting our Mid-Year AP Calculus Camp on:

📅 March 20th & 21st

Time: TBD (Check out our poll)

📍 Hosted by Just Math Tutoring

🎯 Covering AP Calculus Units 4, 5, and 6

What We’re Covering

Unit 4: Contextual Applications of Differentiation

  • Related rates

  • Linearization

  • Optimization problems

  • Motion along a line

Unit 5: Analytical Applications of Differentiation

  • First & second derivative tests

  • Curve sketching

  • Concavity & inflection points

  • L’Hôpital’s Rule

Unit 6: Integration & Accumulation of Change

  • Antiderivatives

  • Riemann sums

  • Fundamental Theorem of Calculus

  • Definite integrals & area

These are the units that separate “I kind of get it” from “I’m confident walking into the AP exam.”

Who This Camp Is For

✔ Students currently in AP Calculus AB

✔ Students preparing for the AP Exam

✔ Students who want to strengthen their grade before final quarter

✔ Students who want structured review before spring break

Why This Camp Works — And Why March Matters

This isn’t a lecture. It’s focused, strategic practice.

Students will:

→ Recognize AP problem types quickly

→ Practice real AP-style MCQs and FRQs

→ Use clear, step-by-step solving frameworks

→ Strengthen weak areas through guided repetition

March is the turning point in AP Calculus.

Addressing gaps now means:

✔ Stronger final quarter grades

✔ More confident exam prep

✔ Less stress heading into review season

Waiting until April often means playing catch-up. March is the reset.

Our Annual Summer Prep Sessions

Not a Camp, But Better for Your Child’s Confidence and Success

Summer should be a time of sunshine and play — but it can also be a powerful window for academic growth, especially in mathematics. Too often students experience the “summer slide,” losing valuable skills over vacation and arriving back at school struggling to keep up. But there’s a smarter way to spend the break — one that builds confidence, strengthens gaps, and gets your child ahead before the new school year ever begins.

Cue the Summer Prep Program from Just Math Tutoring: it's a focused, personalized math summer prep solution designed to **prepare students for fall success, not just occupy their summer.

Why This Isn’t “Just Another Summer Camp”

Unlike typical math summer camps that might blend games and activities with general enrichment, the Summer Prep Program at Just Math Tutoring is specifically tailored to academic achievement:

  • Curriculum Customized to Each Student: Every participant starts with a pretest that identifies strengths and gaps. Based on that baseline, tutors create a personalized learning plan targeting key skills students need to succeed in the upcoming class.

  • Grade-Leveled Math Prep: From Prealgebra to AP Calculus, students can choose the level that matches their upcoming coursework — smoothing the jump between grades and boosting confidence along the way.

  • Focused Academic Growth: Instead of broad activities, sessions build math competency, strengthen foundations, and introduce next-year concepts early so kids walk into the first day ahead of the curve.

In other words, this program isn’t about keeping kids busy — it’s about keeping their math skills sharp and giving them a serious academic advantage.

The Benefits of Math Summer Prep That Last All Year

Research shows that students who practice math over the summer — especially through targeted programs — are far less likely to experience learning loss and often achieve stronger outcomes in the new school year.

Here’s what summer math prep helps with:

Close Gaps and Build Confidence

Students who struggle with specific math concepts can use summer prep to revisit tricky topics — without the pressure of classroom pacing and homework.

Get Ahead Before Fall

Rather than scrambling to catch up once school starts, participating students begin next year’s math content before everyone else. This early mastery makes classes feel easier and boosts confidence.

Prevent the “Summer Slide”

Students often lose weeks of academic progress during summer break, especially in math. Programs like this help sustain and even expand students’ math knowledge so they return ready to learn.

Flexible and Convenient — Designed for Busy Families

The Just Math Summer Prep Program blends structure with flexibility:

✔️ Sessions are available online or in-person (where location permits) — students can learn comfortably from home or at a local library.

✔️ Families choose between 1–3 sessions per week between June 15th and August 15th, giving kids the time they need without overwhelming summer schedules.

✔️ Tailored pacing meets students where they are — whether they’re catching up, keeping up, or getting ahead.

Make This Summer Count

Instead of falling into the typical summer routine where math skills fade, give your child the advantage of focused summer math preparation. The Summer Prep Program at Just Math Tutoring helps keep students confident, prepared, and ahead of the curve when fall arrives — without turning summer into another school day.
